Xi’an Jiao Tong University was formed by the combination of Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Shaanxi Finance and Economics College and Xi’an Medical University in April 2000. Xi’an Medical University originally consisted of the Elementary Medical College, No 1 and No 2 Clinic Medical College (Hospital), a Nursing Department, a Medical Jurisprudence College, a Community Medical College and the Public Health College. NANTONG UNIVERSITY

Nantong University is located in Nantong, a coastal city in the east of China. It was approved to establish by China's Ministry of Education in May 2004 as a comprehensive university through the amalgamation of three former colleges: Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Teachers College. With a history of nearly 100 years and an impressive breadth of disciplines, Nantong University has leading graduate, professional, and undergraduate programs in a variety of fields, including programs in literature, science, economics, law, education, history, engineering, medical science, and management. There are now 22 schools offering 78 undergraduate programs, 43 master programs and 1 doctor program. Yangtze University

Yangtze University is an amalgamation of former Jianghan Petroleum University , Hubei Agricultural University, Jingzhou Teacher's University and Hubei Medical Staff College upon the approval of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China April 2003. Yangtze University , under the strong support of Hubei Province , is the largest and multidisciplinary university affiliated to Hubei Government.

Engineering in China

XIDIAN UNIVERSITY

Xidian University is a national key university with disciplines of information and electronics as the major ones and with coordinated development of multi-disciplines of engineering, science, management, and arts, which is underthe direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. It is one of the key institutions of higher learning under construction according to the national “211” Project, one of the 56 universities which have set up graduate schools, one of the 37 universities which have established demonstrative software schools, and one of the 20 universities which have been given approval to found IC talents training bases.

Its predecessor was the Radio School of the Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee set up in Ruijin, Jiangxi Province in 1931, which was the first school of engineering and technology personally founded by the older generation of revolutionaries of Mao Zedong and others. It moved to Xi’an in 1958 and was turned from the organizational system of the army to the civilian one in 1966. It got the present name in 1988.

Northwestern Polytechnical University

Northwestern Polytechnical University is China’s only research-oriented, multi-disciplinary, and international university of science and technology, which simultaneously excels at Aeronautics, Astronautics, and Marine Engineering. The University emphasizes science and technology, while harmoniously developing the fields of management, humanities, economics, and law.
The predecessors of Northwestern Polytechnical University were the State Northwestern Engineering College (formed by Beiyang Engineering College, Engineering College of Peking University, Engineering College of Northeast University and Jiaozuo Engineering College in 1938), and Huadong Aeronautical College (formed by the Aeronautical Engineering Department of Jiaotong University, Aeronautical Engineering Department of Nanjing University, and Aeronautical Engineering Department of Zhejiang University in 1952). State Northwestern Engineering College and Huadong Aeronautical College joined to become the Northwestern Polytechnical University in 1957. In 1970 the Air Force Engineering Department of Harbin Military Engineering College was merged into NPU.

SOUTHWEST PETROLEUM UNIVERSITY.
Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) is located in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province. Founded in 1958, SWPU was originally named Sichuan Petroleum Institute. It was renamed Southwest Petroleum Institute (SWPI) in 1970. Achieving university status in 2005, it became Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU). Originally SWPU was supported and administered by the Ministry of Petroleum Industry and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). Since 2000 the university has been supported and administered by Sichuan Province SWPU comprises two campuses: the original at Nanchong (more than 700 mu, or 115 acres) and the second at Chengdu (more than 2，000 mu, or 346 acres) with a total area of about 2,800 mu, or 461 acres. The total floor space is more than 800,000 square meters.

Qingdao University of Science & Technology (QUST)

Qingdao University of Science & Technology (QUST) is a key university of Shandong Province. It is a multi-disciplinary university which focuses on engineering, co-ordinately develops with science, engineering, art, economic, management, medicine and law, and distinguishes itself by material science, chemical engineering, applied chemistry, mechanical engineering, automation and information technology and computer science.

Founded in the year 1950, QUST now has three campuses which are Laoshan Campus, Sifang Campus and Gaomi Campus. It has 25,000 full-time students, 2500 of them being postgraduate or PhD students. QUST has the power to offer Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctor’s degree, and also the power to recommend admission of postgraduates exempt from examination. It now has seven PhD majors, four postdoctoral research stations, five primary disciplines for master degree, 49 postgraduate majors, 60 undergraduate majors, and one national key laboratory (authorized for construction), one national engineering technology research centre, two key laboratories of Ministry of Education, one engineering technology research center of Ministry of Education, 14 key majors and key laboratories of Shandong Province, 5 provisional engineering technology research canters, and 8 key laboratories, engineering research centers and industrial supportive canters of Qingdao City. QUST has two national educational teams, 3 provisional educational teams, 4 national specialized majors, one national talents training innovative experimental area, 8 provisional model majors and specialized majors. It has won two national teaching achievement awards, two courses of national excellence, one national bilingual course, and one national experiment teaching demonstration center. Due to the high quality education, QUST has been evaluated as Outstanding College of Undergraduate Education Evaluation by Ministry of Education.

NORTH CHINA ELECTRICAL POWER UNIVERSITY

North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and officially listed as one of the “211 Project” universities.
